Out & About #471 | Partial July Visuals

7/9/2018

July is my favourite month of the year, and for several good reasons:

It's the halfway mark of the year, which means that summer (and summer vacation) is at its peak.
As the seventh month of the year, it is a naturally lucky period. (Also, who can forget GOT7?!)
Celebratory activities commonly take place during this 31-day duration. (Quite a number of friends share the same birthday month as well!)
Here is a brief recap of the happenings that took place in between GOT7's appearances (1, 2, 3) in Toronto.

1) A Hotcake Breakfast Happy Meal consumed on a glorious summer morning (with some unexpected gusts of wind taking down the sugar syrup container)
2) My go-to refresher as of late: Lemonade, Lemon-flavoured Perrier, and Ribena
3) Maple Cream Ale from Muskoka had been obtained on our trip to Barrie

4) One Zo's Chinatown location Feat. BamBam's doubleB headwear

5) Early birthday festivities at Canyon Creek - where service was flawless, the Peppercorn New York emerged a tender Medium Rare, the Top Sirloin was as tough as straw, and the Double Chocolate Brownie was super sweet but scrumptious.

6) Jinyoung wins with a stellar hand! (I estimate an approximate 1.5 year hiatus from mahjong, actually.)
7) Embarking on a trip to Lakeshore amidst thirty-plus degree weather to obtain ice cream.

Berry Coconut was on the sugary side, though Cappuccino Crisp and Salted Caramel Cookie were simply divine! Scoops is honestly a wonderful place.

8) Sansotei's Square One outpost was discovered to be a compact addition to the specialized Japanese cuisine in Mississauga. It consisted of about the same number of seats as Kenzo, though the seating and waitlist system was far less structured.

Tonkotsu and Tonkotsu Black Ramen were decent, albeit the heavy dose of sodium. Gyoza, on the other hand, were a repulsive side order comprising of excessive grease and unsatsifying filling-to-wrapper ratio. Pre-packaged portions from T&T could have easily done better (and spared me a complete 20 hours of stifling indigestion).
