Out & About #582 | Partial September Visuals

​Ottawa posts will be delayed for some unspecified duration of time - though, that shouldn't come as a surprise anyway.
Work has resumed, thus opportunities to recount the trip's happenings shall be on the back burner in the interim. For now, let's review some recent happenings of the month.

​1) Ice Q (Round 6)

I love Thai Tea, and there's just an undeniable speck of individuality in Ice Q's rendition that keeps me coming back for more, in spite of a fragrant blend I've (derived from the source and) stashed at home.

​Two weeks ago marked their Grand Opening weekend, which I had originally planned to take part in with a fellow eating enthusiast. Unfortunately, those plans fell through due to extenuating circumstances; an early evening trip to Japan Fest took place in its stead.

Regardless, I managed to take advantage of the 20% off promotion on the second last day with a custom order of Black Sesame ice cream-topped Thai Tea - an unimaginably fantastic pairing. They have also affixed Korean-inspired "melts" to the menu, expanding their range of offerings to include savoury sources of sustenance.

​2) Training sessions aren't so bad with treats and coffee

​3) The Snoopy x Milkis collection was spotted at Royal Bank Plaza's Sukoshi Mart.

4) Mini Donuts have launched at McCafé! Not the fondest of doughnuts, I opted for a London Fog and Fruit & Fibre Muffin pairing as a morning pick-me-up.
5) Hi Teddy.

​6) Since shifting two blocks north of their original downtown location to Queen and Peter, the outdoor equipment giant now features a Chevron pattern wooden ceiling and a climbing wall on the second floor. Just bring your own gear and check in with a staff member!

​7) A trip to CoCo was made strictly for the BOGO offer.  The gradual decline of bubble tea images on this space ought to be an earnest enough display of sugar-restricting efforts.

​​This voucher was then redeemed for an order nearly identical in nature, but with the omission of grass jelly and outsourced Long Black.

​8) TIFF things spotted south of the core, by the harbour.
9) Pumpkin Spice Cold Brew from Starbucks was enjoyable until all that remained was cream...

11) Complimentary donuts (and obnoxiously potent coffee)
12) Mini donuts courtesy of RBC - made known to me by none other than my favourite fangirl

​13) Revisiting Hub on a Day Pass means none other than aching fingertips, re-emerging calluses, tragically tender forearms, and shoulder blades buzzing with sharp soreness. Of course, I made sure to give the elliptical some love too, since the number of times a different being other than myself utilizing the machine can easily be counted on one hand.

​14) Chanced upon First Aid Beauty's sample-giving blitz at Yonge-Dundas Square (Feat. Shawn Mendes in the back)

​Sample packages were distributed amongst those that sauntered by, and a photobooth area was set up at the centre of the event area. A claw machine also granted attendees a chance at monogrammed pop sockets or foldable totes bags. Those that weren't so keen with eyeballing xy coordinates were bestowed consolation prizes in the form of pins or samples.

​15) The Pumpkin Spice pandemic has hit McDonald's, but unlike Starbucks, I did not dislike their fall-inspired latte. Chocolate syrup was omitted due to distaste for excessive sugariness, however the pumpkin syrup remained

​16) An impromptu lunch meetup with my favourite fangirl Feat. Scaccia's Chicken Rose Penne, Uncle Tetsu's limited edition Mid-Autumn stamp, and another box of the beloved bakery's Soft-Baked Matcha and Cheese Cookies.
