[The Intense Summer] HONG KONG DAY 5

I'm the type that usually skips breakfast (or just has a smoothie or some sort of dairy-based beverage), but on our last full day in Hong Kong, my parents decided to take me to a Cha Chan Teng. It was an authentic Cantonese Cha Chan Teng by the name of Tsui Wah Restaurant.

I don't know they manage to serve people so quickly, but the lineup we saw upon approaching was quite alarming. Normally, a lineup of that size (over 10 people) would have took at least 45 minutes in any given Canadian restaurant. However, the customers disappeared into the restaurant one by one, and in less than 5 minutes, we were the next ones in line.

The manager, or who we perceived to be the manager due to his more formal uniform, sat us down at a table by the window and let us take our time choosing from their wide array of breakfast/lunch options listed on laminated sheets under a clear tabletop.

My parents ordered a Hainan Chicken Rice set and Fish Balls with Noodles in Soup, while I chose the the breakfast special: minestrone penne soup, scrambled egg, spam., and a toasted side bun.

We also ordered hot milk tea, which came in their trademark 'smiling porcelain doll' mugs.
Though pretty good, it wasn't able to match Fa Yuen standards. This one was somehow a tad too milky, and lacked tea flavour.

As of current, construction is being conducted outside the restaurant; the area is surrounded with tall boards to protect citizens from potential falling fragments, thus few photos of the restaurant front could be captured properly.

After brunch (late breakfast for me), we strolled around the neighbouring area until we chanced upon a newly-renovated department store named I SQUARE.

Well, look who I found!

This was the first SKINFOOD store I saw in HK so I was pretty excited. XD

The salesperson completely ignored my presence so we proceeded to explore other levels of the department store.

The largest Canon store I've ever seen was located on the twenty-something-th floor of I SQUARE and hosted demos of almost each product Canon has ever made (DLSRs, Point-and-Shoot's, etc.)

Not only were there lenses available to ogle over through a piece of glass, one could also test out various cameras (both big and small) on the test subjects/layouts provided. The most interesting thing was a shoot-and-print station, where a DSLR was hooked up to an app and a mini photo printer.

We actually spent so much time exploring the store that one of the sales reps gave us a free Canon luggage tag with an orange sock monkey on the front.

It was our intention to wind down for the day by having an afternoon snack at baby cafe (named in honour of model Angelababy) around 4 PM, but since it as full, all we could do was take a number and enjoy the live music performance taking place while we waited.
