There are times when shots are taken for the purpose of eternally stilling a beautiful moment, while others are taken to create a work of art.
While both of the above cases do apply, I would have to admit that my primary purpose is for archiving events or daily happenings as memories.
Reviewing old photos is a special thing for me. No shot can ever be recreated. Existing photos will be saved as memories, allowing viewers to recall events that may have seemed small and unimportant at the time, but will bear a much stronger sentimental meaning in the future.
Photos are memories; the only exception is that they remain unchanged over time, whereas memories may gradually fade, blurring images along the way.
It is because of photos that we are able to maintain a clear representation of the object or person(s) captured within it at the time it was taken.
It is because of photos that even when the things captured (be them inanimate or animate) cease to exist anymore, the associated signifcance will forever be sustained
