Out & About #48 | FanFare Geek Fest II + Bubble Republic

(I am still in the midst of editing cosplay photos, but they will be available HERE once I've finished!)

The first FanFare Geek Fest by ConBravo! took place in Hamilton earlier this year. This time around, the convention was held at International Plaza, one of the panel buildings for Anime North.

The event was said to begin at 10 AM, though even upon arriving a little after noon, there weren't many cosplayers in the building. I headed up to registration and then took a quick look around the venue.
As I was carrying quite a bit more equipment than I was used to, it became slightly inconvenient to take photos. Thus, I only ended up using my phone to capture a couple of shots inside the terribly-lit vendors alley.
Lighting outside of the vendors alley wasn't much better. The ceilings were rather high, and the incandescent chandeliers cast a horrid yellow-green tint on everyone beneath them.
Shooting outside wasn't exactly an option either; there had been on-and-off periods of rain since early morning and it was chilly enough that my fingers would go numb in a matter of minutes.

Needless to say, I wasn't able to capture as many shots as I would've liked. In comparison to outdoor events held in the summer, I had taken a substantially larger amount of photos, though few were satisfactory enough by my standards.

Following the event, I headed to Bubble Republic for dinner with a friend that had been kind enough (and patient enough) to accompany me as my assistant for the day, even shielding me from the rain while outside.

We also ordered a Red Bean Crushed Ice to finish. As of now, I've tried three out of seven of their crushed ice variations. I have officially made it my mission to try them all! (Hahaha).

I previously tried their Milk Tea Crushed Ice in the summer and had thought that it would remain to be my go-to variation the next time I visited, but Red Bean proved to be just as amazing, if not even more so! (This time it didn't arrive at the table in an almost-soluble state.)
